Artisan History

Revolutionary Designs, Inc. is a small woodworking shop started in 1986 by Rick and Donna Chrisman now located in the Ouachita Mountains of Arkansas.

Requests for custom work and encouragement from a woodworking instructor led us to make our woodworking hobby a full time business. We began in a co-op shop sharing space with our instructor, then moved to our garage shop and finally built our current facility set up specifically for our business. During this evolution we gained experience repairing furniture, building custom cabinets and furniture, finishing and high volume production of small wood products.

Our many years in the corporate workplace gave us the background and understanding it takes to operate a business successfully. However, our dream was to live in the country, working and living at a more reasonable pace. This persistent dream led us to move our shop from Texas to our 20 acre secluded property in Arkansas.

When our woodworking instructor decided to retire we took over the handcrafted line of Shaker style furniture and accessories he and his wife made. This allowed us to return to handcrafted work without the tedious process and erratic sales involved with custom furniture design or the repetition of production work.

Today we offer high quality wood products to wholesale buyers worldwide. Our focus is on small handcrafted furniture and accessories including boxes, shelves, mirrors, tables and more. We strive to meet the needs of our customers with quality products, on time deliveries and professional service.
